Stress-related cardiomyopathy due to anaphylaxis to iodinated contrast media during arteriography procedures in diabetic patient

چکیده
Anaphylaxis is an acute, severe systemic allergic reaction that can be potentially fatal. It often transition to refractory hemodynamic instability (new onset myocardial dysfunction/ left ventricular dysfunction/LVD). Stress-related cardiomyopathy (SRC) now emerging as a significant contributor of dysfunction and has multifactorial etiologies, including the excessive catecholamine released in intense stress conditions. also more likely occur middle aged/ postmenopausal woman. This rare case report, SRC caused by contrast-induced anaphylaxis within 30 minutes post artheriography procedures. Management should prompt precise because it considered medical emergency with rapid disease progress cardiovascular respiratory collapse causing death.

Anaphylaxis to Iodinated Contrast Media: Clinical Characteristics Related with Development of Anaphylactic Shock
OBJECTIVE Anaphylaxis is the most severe form of radiocontrast media (RCM) induced hypersensitivity and can be life-threatening if profound hypotension is combined. With increased use of iodine based RCM, related hypersensitivity is rapidly growing. However, the clinical characteristics and risk factors of RCM induced anaphylaxis accompanied by hypotension (anaphylactic shock) are not clearly d...

Anaphylaxis is a sudden-onset, severe hypersensitivity reaction that can be potentially fatal. It can often transition to refractory hemodynamic instability, eventually resulting in death. Stress-related cardiomyopathies (SRCs) have multifactorial etiologies, including being linked to excessive catecholamine release in periods of intense stress. This novel case report recounts a SRC caused by c...
متن کاملAllergic Immediate Hypersensitivity to Iodinated Contrast Media
Background: Immediate hypersensitivity reactions (IHR) to iodinated contrast media (ICM) have traditionally been considered nonallergic; however, the increasingly frequent reporting of positive skin test and basophil activation test results suggests a specifi c allergic mechanism in some patients. Skin tests have been proposed as a useful tool for diagnosis, although their sensitivity and predi...

OBJECTIVE To review the efficacy of pharmacological prevention of serious reactions to iodinated contrast media. DESIGN Systematic review. DATA SOURCES Systematic search (multiple databases, bibliographies, all languages, to October 2005) for randomised comparisons of pretreatment with placebo or no treatment (control) in patients receiving iodinated contrast media. Review methods Trial qua...
متن کاملManagement of hypersensitivity reactions to iodinated contrast media.
All iodinated contrast media (CM) are known to cause both immediate ( £ 1 h) and nonimmediate (>1 h) hypersensitivity reactions. Although for most immediate reactions an allergic hypersensitivity cannot be demonstrated, recent studies indicate that the severe immediate reactions may be IgE-mediated, while most of the nonimmediate exanthematous skin reactions, appear to be T-cell mediated. Patie...
